Building the best live gaming platform
The platform will be the best way to engage with your local board gaming community. The chats have less noise, events and playgroups are actually discoverable by everyone — not just the few in an obscure chat group — and setting up events, or even complex tournaments, should be easy.
And the best part is that all of these things are genuinely easy to represent with very few entities:
Four ideas the whole thing is built from
Chat
Who you're talking to, and everything you agree on together.
Location
Where the table is, and how far that is from you.
Game
What is being played, and how many seats it needs.
Time
When it happens, once or every week.
With these concepts, I can model almost every use case a board gaming community has. Which to me suggests the end state of the app will be relatively simple as well. That's my goal, at least.
Luckily, I'm not doing this alone — but I'm the one leading the charge.
