Building Your Board Gaming Friend Group on tableport
From adding friends to inviting them to matches and events, learn how to build and manage your board gaming community on tableport.
Board games are social. You're sitting across from other people, laughing at bad rolls, celebrating victories, complaining about defeats.
tableport has friend connections built in.
Adding Friends
The first step is connecting with the people you play with. You can add friends on tableport by:
- Username search, find people directly by their tableport username
- During events, add people you meet at game nights
- From matches, connect with players you've played against
Once connected, your friends appear across the platform, making it easier to include them in everything you do.
What Friends Enable
Having friends added lets you:
Quick Match Invites
Starting a game? Invite friends directly instead of coordinating through external apps. They get notified, can accept or decline, and everyone stays connected through the match.
Event Planning
When creating events, your friends list is right there. No need to remember everyone's contact info or create separate group chats.
Library Sharing
Share your game collection with friends. They can browse what you own, which makes planning what to play much easier. "Hey, you have Everdell? Can you bring it next week?"
See Their Activity
Want to know what your friends have been playing? Their match history gives you inspiration for games to try and topics to discuss.
Inviting People to Matches
Inviting friends to matches works like this:
- Start a match, select the game you're playing
- Invite players, choose from your friends list
- They receive notification, friends can accept and join the match
- Play together, everyone's results are recorded together
No more "can someone add me to the score tracking?" Everyone's included from the start.
Rematches and Game Changes
Just finished a game and want another round? The rematch feature keeps your player group together while starting a fresh match. You can even switch to a different game without re-inviting everyone.
It's perfect for those game nights where you play three or four different games with the same people.
Building Beyond Your Immediate Circle
While tableport is great for existing friend groups, we're also building features to help you expand your gaming community:
- Public events (coming soon), join game nights at local stores and cafes
- Game stores integration (planned), find venues and groups in your area
- Matchmaking (future), connect with players looking for groups
We're working on making it easier to find people to play with.
You don't need hundreds of gaming friends. Even two or three regular opponents is enough. Just have a reliable group you can reach out to when you want to play.
Start by adding the people you already game with. Then, as you meet more players at events or through the community, your network grows naturally.
